Hi everyone, I was admitted to Williams today. For future applicants, please do take that chance and apply to Williams. It’s one of the most transfer-friendly schools I’ve ever visited and you never know the outcome. I am a community college student and they literally flew me out and allowed me to stay on campus for free for a couple of days because they truly value community college students and want us. Overall, Williams values us and please, do apply!
If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to message me.
@kb199977 congrats! I’ve been following you on the JKC forum as well. Was Williams at the top of your list?
I applied for the travel grant program as well. Unfortunately, I was accepted to it late last year, and they advised me to wait for admitted students day. I thought my chances were okay because of the grant acceptance, but I must have really screwed up something in my app.

CC student
4.0 GPA graduating with AAS this semester
Left high school after one year because of family circumstances
1420 SAT
My school doesn’t offer any EC’s or research, but I had other EC’s relating to helping my family and creating a business to fund my education.
I received the travel grant to visit Williams for free.
This isn’t close to the whole picture, but I’m not going to list everything.
I believe my lack of school involvement/research played a part in the decision. It was kind of out of my control because it’s a very underfunded school with no clubs or campus involvement (and it’s not a PTK member). I feel like I probably disappointed them with my app after they accepted me to visit, which sucks. I put a lot of effort into the app, so I don’t have any regrets.
I’ll share my stats for future applicants reference after this admissions cycle is over - I’m still waiting to hear back from a few other schools. Congrats to everyone who was accepted, and good luck to the fellow waitlisters!
