I just got off as well!
Email or portal?
Parent here-my son just got in off the waitlist today as well. He received a second email on Wednesday asking if he was still interested. He replied “yes” Thursday and was accepted today. Good Luck to everyone.
don’t know- he called me to tell me he has received the news. It was not a phone call that’s all I know.
did anyone else who received the second email not get off the waitlist? I responded on Thursday as well, but didn’t hear anything today
I also got the second email but was not admitted Hope we are still in the running!
@bkatguy I received an email from the admissions office that directed me to the portal.
Congratulations! If you do accept the offer, you’re going to have the time of your life!
Congratulations to those who were admitted! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go cry in the corner…
Parent here again. No crying allowed! You are all incredibly talented and accomplished and will be very happy and successful in your lives. Do not blow College out of proportion. I deal with high end hiring decisions in my firm regularly - we rarely even know where the candidate went to college. There is a LOT of life beyond it. Your ultimate trajectory is dependent on many factors and your undergrad years and credentials are a tiny portion of your ultimate life experience. Have fun. Stay positive. Enjoy it all.
I also received that email on May 13, but still nothing in my portal Oh well, I’m happy with UCLA and the west coast.
Congratulations to all admitted students, and congrats and best wishes as well to those who were not admitted to Williams but were admitted elsewhere. Go in with a positive attitude, and it is likely that, one month into your college experience, you will be happy wherever you are going to college and glad you are not anywhere else.
I remember someone saying that, in 2020, the deadline for the students to commit to Williams will be June 1st due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Does anyone know or have any thoughts about whether Willians will call up anyone else from the waiting list after this deadline? I’ve got to know that they have called up students twice: May 2nd and May 16th. I am not quite sure if they send the acceptance to students on alternate Saturdays or when there is any vacancy available.
to those who have not been admitted yet, fear not the deadline was extended until june 1st so they’ll have more and more seats to handout then. Each week I would update counselors on what I have been doing. No, I am not an athlete. However, I would share how my family and I are communicating with one another even though we live far apart and my adventures of baking loads of cookies and driving around to see loved ones. My point is that as long as you show the counselors that you are using this time to be proactive and to uplift your community you show a very positive aspect of your application. I would update them on ANYTHING you have been doing and remember that no thing is too small.
To those who have been admitted off the waitlist, have you received any welcome packages in the mail yet? I was admitted june 2nd for reference.
Has anyone gotten off? They seem to be following a pattern of alternate Saturdays at 1 pm EST - which would be today.
Are people still waiting? At this point, I’m pretty well committed to my other choice.
I didn’t see anyone saying that got off the waiting list yesterday
Hey guys. Today on June 2 at 3:49 PM CST I received this email:
Thank you for your patience and continued interest in Williams over the last couple of months. I’m writing to let you know that we will not have the opportunity to admit any additional students to the Williams Class of 2024, and wish you all the best in the coming years.
me too. heartbroken .
I know future success isn’t determined by where you go to school, but the academic quality is. I’ll never have the chance to study at a place like williams
@friedpotatoes and @RichardWright1 and anyone else to whom this applies- Sorry you heard disappointing news. But please see my post in #51 above. Also- the most important factor in your college education is not which college you attend. It is you. Go make your experience a great one!
I wish you much happiness in college.
