Window Treatments

I think “naked windows” are fine if they work with privacy and sun. I was just asking this question to my designer friend when we got new windows and I didn’t want to hide them. She said nothing on them is fine, and she has that in several windows in her house (which has been in decorating magazines).

I’ve got blackout honeycomb in our bedroom - they do a great job of insulating as well as keeping out the sunlight. In our living and dining area we have a fairly casual shear. It has pale leaves stamped on it. In the kitchen we have nothing. The other bedrooms have blackout roller shades. I work a lot with a designer - and he’s still putting curtains everywhere. I think you can do what you like.

I just noticed I was tagged in this thread by @Nrdsb4 (but the tag didnt notify me). Yes, I love my blinds!! Highly recommend them! We often leave them mostly up, but we have a lot of windows in the family room and when its cold they help with insulation.

Don’t know how I missed these new posts, so my apologies!
Naked windows on most of the windows would likely not work. Taxes here are super high, so lots are small. And it’s new construction so very few full grown trees.

Just wanted to thank you all for your help. Houzz is a find, BTW!!! I’m a bit overwhelmed as this is quite a big step up in square footage for us. Only 3 months until we move in!!

@ChaosParent23, I’m enjoying your enthusiasm.

We are remodeling, not building, which seemed much simpler than building. But right now it’s not seeming that way. We gutted our large master bath because it was arranged in a way that made zero sense. Re-designing it is proving such a challenge. DH rejects every design that I like, and just raved about a design that I will NEVER agree to.

Very very frustrating and stressful. Once this is figured out, things will go smoother, I am sure, and I’ll get as excited as you…well, one can always hope. :slight_smile:
