Heard today that worldwide wine production will drop to the lowest level in more than 50 years, down 8% from last year. This is not because of demand - extreme weather is apparently causing this. The CA fires are definitely in the mix.
Yes, France is down 20% this year. Another bad year for European olive oil too due to the extreme heat of summer.

Came back from our weekend of wine tasting. Saw the devastating results of the fire near Santa Rosa as we were driving from the airport. So much damage! Lots of residents posted signs saying thanks to the first responders. The locals really appreciated our business. We will be back!
If anyone is thinking about ordering some wine from Rombauer, wait until the Saturday - they are having all of their profits from Dec 9 sales donated to the fire relief.
