Every wine store I know sells these bottle shaped sealable plastic bags with an absorbent gel inside in case of breakage. We have never lost a bottle using these things, but if you were unlucky, the gel would absorb the wine and because the bag is sealed, it wouldn’t get on your clothes.
Is it possible to get the wine shipped from either the winery or the store?
I grew up in Finger Lakes wine country, and all the wineries and stores there are used to shipping wine all over the world for tourists who can’t/won’t bring it home themselves. No idea on the price, but they are pros at what they do.
Shipping wine from the winery’s across states is dicey due to law. You can ship to some states, not others. Shipping within the state works in some states, not others. It’s very difficult and confusing.
Thanks all for the suggestions. I did go ahead and order some of the wine skins from amazon. Will try these out and see how they work!
