Emilea Zingas ( ice dancing) is from our town and used to take violin and piano lessons with my kids! It’ll be fun to watch someone we have a connection to!

Just finished catching up with the Nationals. So sad for the Shib Sibs… but they were amazing - anyone who says otherwise should try to make a comeback like that. Great job Shib Sibs! 
Really happy for Max Naumov. I can’t imagine tragically losing both parents at his age and still keeping his focus. Jason Brown is a star no matter what!

IMO, Amber Glenn is absolutely amazing. She combines so much power and artistry in her skating it is unbelievable! Go Amber.
Speaking of ice dancing, my husband and I loved the Brown sibs’ Godfather dance. So cool!

Did you catch their exhibition skate? They danced to the Ukrainian song known in the US as Carol of the bells. Aka Schedrik (sp?) as it is known in Vadim’s birth country. Go Vadim and Emilea!

"I don’t think I’ll be skating to ‘Gaga’ at the Olympics. But I really wanted to show it at least once… I originally planned to skate to ‘MacArthur Park’ [my previous free program] in the individual competition.
At first, I wanted the orchestral version, but… you can’t just use someone else’s orchestral version of ‘Bloody Mary’ from YouTube. So no orchestral accompaniment, no ‘Bloody Mary’. That’s how it was.
I rehearsed my previous free program twice a week, and the rest of the time I worked on the program to Lady Gaga’s music."
She added that work is also underway on an updated design for the dress - still metallic, but with a fresh approach.

I get it - Gaga might be a little much for the Olympics. I didn’t care for the current choreography, but I did like the music and I loved her dress. Hopefully she’ll bring it back for an exhibition skate with some revised choreography because I would love to see that. She’s touring with Stars on Ice right after the Olympics, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see it there, too.

I was not able to watch their exhibition skate. I watched the one that they skated to Prokofiev. I’ll have to try to find the other one on YouTube if I can.

I recently binged on replays of the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Our skaters - mostly the athletes not going to the Olympics- did so well! Really enjoyed watching the Brown sibs’ Godfather free dance again.

It looks like the “ICE agents” are Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which is more of a professional detective type organization, but is under ICE in the organization chart. Being under ICE in the organization chart means that ICE’s reputation harms HSI’s reputation and likely makes its job harder.

Will Lindsey still compete in the Olympics? The Women’s Olympic downhill is a week from Sunday, with training runs next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
She has not scratched so far as far as I know. Hope her knee is holding up. She is a true iron woman!
