Panhandlegal–I have a basket overflowing with recipes that need to be organized so I bought an organizer at Sur La Table. I bought it four years ago. Maybe this is the winter I actually get it done…

I will be organizing photos and unrolling my yoga mat for the first time in well over a year. I’m not actually going to do yoga, I’m just going to unroll in and lie on it for awhile. Anne Lamott calls this,“prone yoga.” I’m really good at it. After the last three weeks of our dear nocturnal freshman s being home I could use a week or two of prone yoga. :)

Recipes: I use Century Photo products recipe organizers - just slip the 3x5 card into the plastic sleeves.

Wallpaper: expect some work. Buy the chemical remover, add the dilute solution to a spray bottle and spray, wait, and remove. The lady that owned our house before us was a wallpaper fanatic.

Paint - I’m fantasizing that I will turn D into a painter this summer…

In the last months of each of my pregnancies, I had a hard time sleeping. I would wake up in the night and be so physically tired, but was not able to fall asleep again. That was the perfect time to organize my recipes. My youngest child turned 13 in November, so 1995 was the last year in which my recipes were organized.

Bromfield - we had the spots on the ceiling also. Husband bought an outdoor paint and painted the bathroom ceiling with that - no more spots. However the paint smell was very strong so do run the fan and/or open a window for a day.

I took the day off yesterday because I didn’t want to watch the events of the day with my snarky Republican co-workers. During the lull of the luncheon and slow procession to the White House, I hemmed my dust ruffle AND the comforter that has always been too long! Two winter projects done!!!

Boy do I have projects! Nothing like having a grad party looming on the horizon to get me motivated! I need to order and then install new outdoor lights by the garage…said I would do this 7 years ago when we first moved in! Also need to get new flooring in dining room. It is carpeting now but I’m undecided about whether to replace or go hardwood. Then I wonder if I should just continue the project up the stairs!!! Of course then we would need to paint all the rooms on the main level…

I need to pick out paint colors for the inside of the house that has not been painted in 10 years; it is way overdue! But first I have to figure out what I am doing in the den. We need a new sofa as the seats are worn out, by our butts and the dogs scratching before she lays down. I am hoping we are moving as soon as the market is better so I do not want another big sectional sofa. If I don’t get a sectional, anything else will look lost in this room. I can paint until I know the fabric for the sofa. The painter called me ever few weeks to see if I am ready yet. I hate picking out furniture!

We want to redo our circa 1988 bathroom completely. Can’t wait to get rid of those tiny four inch tiles and grout that keeps cracking and the shower that leaks and all the giant crystal doorknob looking faucet fixtures that I thought we sooo stylish in 1988.

Deciding exactly what we want and what we can afford may take months. If that bathroom redo is successful, I have two more with the same icky floor tiles and doorknob faucets just screaming for help. We hope to sell our house in about three years so figured we better start the update planning now,lol
