I think that puppy wants out of that suit! I have had a strong yen for a corgi for a number of years. They are the big-dog-in-a-smaller-body kind of dog. With a nice coat. Generally, I tend to like working/herding/sporting breeds the most. I don’t know whether I am going to be able to convince H to get another dog, though. :(

My dog is about 18 pounds, gets her hair cut regularly, and loves snow. I once tried to put a sweater on her because a neighbor felt cold for her. She wanted no part of that. I wouldn’t take her on a five mile hike in snow, but a twenty minute walk around the block is fun and she shows no sign of hypothermia. Mixed breed, not sure where her ancestral lands might have been.

That corgi bear is adorable. We rescued our corgi-beagle mix (who IS adorable!) when he was about 4 - would love to know what he looked like as a puppy!

When we did rescue him (he was our first pet ever!) someone in the neighborhood used to see us out walking him while she was walking her dog. She used to always tell me that I needed to get a sweater or something on my dog. I personally didn’t see the need unless we wanted to keep him dry - he seemed so happy on our walks and NEVER hesitated to head outside with us! But apparently she thought we were awful not to keep him warm and so one day she dropped off a couple of old doggie “outfits” she had. ( no offense, they were quite tacky IMO and my dog wasn’t going to wear them!!! One was a “cheerleader” outfit, the other was decades old and worn).

Puppies are so cute. Our dog has a horse ball that he takes to the dog park & it is a puppy magnet. ( they are older puppies, probably about 5 or 6 months)
But he doesn’t share.
:(

I have heavy raincoats for my standard poodles–which they don’t like at all–and light fleece “muscle shirts”, which one of them likes and the other doesn’t. The fleece shirts are these: [Sleeveless Body Shirt](<a href=“Sleeveless Body Shirt”>Sleeveless Body Shirt)

and yes, they are obscenely expensive, but they fit beautifully, wear like iron, and keep them warm even when it’s raining.

I clip my poodles quite close, because I dislike the work of keeping a longer clip. One of them has a fine, soft coat, and she hates being cold; she will come running to get her shirt on. The other has a harsh, dense, and very curly coat. He will swim even if he has to break the ice to get in the water–and he’s not at all fond of his shirt. I will put it on him if he has to be in the car for a while and I can’t leave the heat on for him.
