<p>I’m also suspect of procedures being done prophylactically. Before I went to college, a dentist told my parents I had 7 cavities that needed filling. For some reason, none of that got done before I left. No other dentist since has found those 7 cavities, though I’ve had “deep pits” painted with sealant a couple times…</p>
<p>What I wonder at is the kids who only have 8 adult teeth getting braces in 3rd or 4th grade because “if we straighten them now, there will be less to do when they are in junior high”. I have a couple relatives and friends who are paying big $$$ for 3th grade braces. I’m guessing they will pay just as much later.</p>
