<p>Stereotypes are facts about a few people in a certain group that are blown way out of proportion (eg One stereotype is that most black men are named Tyrone. Not true, but there are more black Tyrones than white Tyrones, latino Tyrones, etc…). Some stereotypes, however, aren’t always based on facts. They can be based on sexism, racism, intolerance of a religion or country, you name it.</p>
<p>Because people are stupid and ignorant. This fact actually explains most of the prejudice and bigotry that exists in our society today.</p>
