(My retainer broke, yet I never told anyone…It was broken at my second-to-last orthodontic appointment…I sounded like I had a lisp…No one ever found out, though, luckily…I never have to go back to the orthodontist, but I still wear it at night, as I was instructed to, even though it’s broken…)

Um…mcz, I would probably try to get it fixed. Is it affecting your teeth at all? If it is, your teeth can move.

Now that we’re on the subject of broken braces appliances…that reminds me of a broken bracket I once had. (word is bracket) I brushed my teeth too hard. That’s how it came off! =

It was actually almost three years ago…It still works, and I can still use it, as I do, and it still performs its duty…Most people stop using it after a while…My last appointment was about a year ago…Everything’s fine…It’s not like it’s smashed, but the upper piece is cracked in two…It does, however, still work, not that many people continue using their retainers…I’ve been using mine for a few years…

Oh mcz…well…in that case…I wouldn’t worry about it. I can’t believe you still wear it. Your appt was a year ago. At your last appt, did your orthodontist say you had to keep wearing it? This reminds me of some guy in the Guinness Book of World Records who wore his braces for 20 years. He said he simply never got around to taking them off. That’s crazy.
