I wonder what others use as starter word. I go thru phases. Piano, stare, inlet, adieu, …

Recently I’ve started using a word from the Connections puzzle, which I do just before Wordle. There’s usually something appropriate (5 letters with no duplicates). I don’t get a lot of 2s or 3s (or let’s be honest, even 4s) but sometimes I hit it lucky and the “unusual” letter(s) pay off. And since I don’t have an account and therefor don’t see the stats, a broken streak or a lot of 6s don’t really bother me.
