Can anyone better explain what “skill” level means when NYT analyzes your guesses? My Wordle result a few days ago was 4 guesses. My “skill” score was 49. Today I got it in two! But my skill score was still only 69. Other days it might be in the 90’s even if it took 3 guesses. What is the logic?

Skill for each answer is based on how likely it is to be a correct Wordle answer or at least get you closer to one. The total skill figure after you’re done is an average of the skill figures for each answer. So it has nothing to do with how quickly you get the solution — if your answers were more lucky than skillful, your skill will be lower. WordleBot doesn’t reward guessing wildly and happening to be right.
