Most med students do not have regular jobs, but many med students participate in studies as “healthy volunteers.” Compensation ranges from $50 for two hours of answering psychological questions to thousands of dollars serving as an endoscopy subject. Studies that involve blood draws, significant dietary interventions, invasive procedures, anesthesia, or taking drugs to establish a safety profile pay more.
