<p>An acceptance or rejection doesn’t show anything about the applicant. A process which considers a 3 hour test at par with 4 years of extracurriculars is glaringly flawed. A rejection from a considerable low ranked school doesn’t necessarily show that you’ll be rejected at a better school too. But as you may have guessed, the answer lies in the ‘necessarily’.</p>
<p>Ok so you mainly listed your stats, which are the not an indicator of whether you can get in. Stats+excellent ECs+somewhat alright awards+essays are what get you in. I’m valedictorian and have a 2240/35 but if that was all I had, I would not be getting in anywhere. It was the fact that I am a siemens semifinalist (lots of research and passion in it) and we (tennis team) were state champions plus a lot of other ECs, my essays, and recs. What I’m trying to say is if you conveyed your out of school interests in your application and wrote essays that reveal a lot about you, then the rest is up to whether the admission officer likes you. You may say oh w/e it has be all based on stats. Well for some part that is true. Umichigan is like that and a lot of other schools are. But for the selective programs you have chosen as well as the top tier schools on your list, they get so many people with top GPA/scores that it just comes down to whether the officer likes you or not from what he sees in your ECs/essays/recs.</p>
<p>Now your objective stats that you have listed are fairly similar to mine and so I would say you have a good chance according to what has happened to me. I myself got in interview with HPME, likely letter from duke, and a research scholarship/summer biomedical research program from Wash U in st. louis (which means I’m in). So I would say you have a good chance at those schools, but frankly w/o seeing your entire application it’s still just a guess. Remember not getting those selective programs does not mean you will not get into the school. Not many people are selected. Best of luck to you.</p>

<p>The Siemens AP award is supposed to be reeally prestigious since only one girl in the state can get it.</p>
<p>Getting rejected from hpme and washu’s scholarships say nothing about your competitiveness. After all, only very very few people get interviewed and you prolly were more than qualified for them. Rejection doesn’t mean you have no chance for Ivies. (this is what I’m telling myself)</p>

<p>hey i got that ‘no interview we dont like you’ letter from hpme too…i just love how they gave me the option of withdrawing if i postmarked it by feb 29 even though i only got their letter on 3/1…they made me really sad. but the way we’re interpreting it now is ‘lets get into a better medical school & make them regret not accepting us’</p>
