Despite my family’s financial status, my parents didn’t want to hurt my chances of getting into Stern, so they and my grandmother worked together to manage my first year’s tuition. However, my grandmother’s health has been declining recently, and I don’t think she has the capability of helping with another year of tuition. I don’t think I will be able to attend NYU for the second year unless I get a substantial amount of aid, and I really don’t want my family to have to sacrifice more for my sake. If I get strong grades during my first year at NYU, will I have a good chance of getting 30,000+ of aid for my second year?

International students don’t qualify for financial aid.

Here is a link from NYU’s Financial Aid Department with information for international students :

Many International Students inquire about obtaining financial aid to assist with the expenses of a degree program.
thanks for the link… it seems like there is little to no chance of me getting financial aid at NYU… are there any schools in america where i would be able to get financial aid?

I think that the people at OISS will be able to help you far better than anyone on this forum. If they can’t help you, try some of the other links cited. I hope it works out for you.

i would say since most liberal arts colleges have only undergraduate program and they would more like to give out more scholarship to international students as well. i have friends who have tuition covered by their school.

what country are you from? I’m international too, but there honestly isn’t much funding for us from NYU or anywhere else for undergraduate level. You have better chances getting funding from your own home country.
