<p>Yes – you will be fine. I think most people from the northeast are reluctant towards southern schools. Fortunately, when I applied there was a girl from my HS already at Vandy so I had someone I could ask questions to and I fell in love with the school after I visited.</p>

<p>As for the Jewish population, the population was around 3% but has skyrocketed to 10-12% in only a couple years. In recent years, Vanderbilt has become very popular with Jewish students.</p>
