Would you be happy attending...

Cornell? No. I wouldn’t be able to stand anywhere remotely suburban (was raised in a large city), and am looking for schools with stronger humanities programs.

University of Michigan Ann Arbor

hm… not a big fan
nothing against it, just doesn’t sound like the right fit for me

upenn??

U Penn–too pre-professional; bright enough, highly-pampered kids, but not intellectually risk-taking.

Uh, Pfbrown–not attending Tufts, but child is.

I like Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor–combines great academics with a healthy and vibrant social sensibility.

Tufts, anyone?

I think Tufts has been on here at least 48397683947 times. And no, I wouldn’t go there.

Virginia Tech

@ swharborfan: so, as your child is in it, what do you think about it? i am applying there for fall 2011

TUFTS: i really like it, already said that it is one of my top options… 3rd maybe, i don’t really rank them in my head
i have a friend there that says it is better than most schools because most of the students are interested in the classes they take so the classes go better
not to mention the campus, which i personally think is gorgeous!!

VIRGINIA TECH:
nope… i think the “other techs” are better

Brown University, anyone?

Some people love Brown, some hate it. We thought the attitude disingenuous and the (snotty) tour guides overly-polished. Providence is icky, but a short train ride to Boston.

Rice!

I’d love to join Rice. It’s a good university! Good financial aid available =)

Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute.

EDIT: RPI? No thanks. Too tech focused, and I prefer a well rounded school.

College of the Ozarks.

Very interested in RPI, waiting for decision on Saturday. Not too big and they have hockey!

For someoneI know RISD

If I was an art person, I would love RISD but sadly I can’t do art.

How about Bowdoin?

Yes. In the top 10 liberal arts colleges, and I’m a rank freak.

I’ll repeat this. College of the Ozarks.

Never heard of it until now. I just looked it up and it sounds great!! Too bad my admissions season already ended :frowning: So yeah, I would be happy attending College of the Ozarks.

University of Maryland - College Park

Nope. Too large.

Syracuse?

No, not my cup o tea.

And now for something completely different: If you had to choose: Community College or University of Pheonix [or ITT tech or similar online “schools”]?

…
Oh, ok, here’s the real college: University of Texas at Austin

Community college. Fo sho.

I’ll keep with this theme…would you choose Clemson honors college or UMiami?

DEFINITELY clemson honors.

BC or Wellesley

BC–too provincial and unintellectual, pretty campus
Wellesley–good academics, lovely campus, high concentration of eating disorders

Neither, frankly.

No one responded but University of Texas at Austin–great school.

chocolate cupcake with peanut butter icing or red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing?

Boston College

Chocolate Cupcake with peanut butter icing.

University of Maine or University of Iowa?

Maine is gorgeous–tough winters

Iowa has great creative writing and very good academics, overall. The medical school has a great ophthalmology residency.

University of Wisconsin at Madison

personally no, because I don’t like big state schools.

BYU?
