Would you cry if you got a 1 on an AP Exam?

Got a 4 am depressed.

If you get a 1, you must expected it a bit. There’s no way you can do well in AP Chem for example with a good teacher and get a 1.

I got a 2 in AP World. I didn’t cry, but it sucks because I did try

^okay, sure.

I did the same and thought, hmm maybe I should start studying to AP exams… Especially since I didn’t remember most of the stuff that I learned 6 months ago (well I did, but it was vague).

^^Great philosophy. You should run for President.

“If I got a 1 I would commit suicide. There is no excuse to get a 1 in ANYTHING. Anyone who scores a 1 may want to look into special education…”

Oh, so if someone got a one, they should commit suicide? How about someone who’s not really good at math, and gets a one? There’s tons of things that person could do to help improve society instead of wasting their life. You overreact. I bet 30% of the people in a history textbook would have gotten a 1 on an AP test even if they prepared.

I’d be in shock and assume that there was a problem with scoring. I’m not a crier though.

1, no. 2, probably.

If you received a one you really must have not known any of the subject material. I would assume you guessed on EVERYTHING. If you got a 1 and were expecting a 3, 4, or 5 something is wrong. So you would have two months to mentally prepare yourself for that one and at that point you probably wouldn’t care.

Yes.
Either this or shrug and blame it on my ghetto school.

^this was replying to the “I would laugh” post.

Got a 2 on Comp Sci A. I’m not really that surprised, and not too disappointed, considering that I only had a permanent teacher for half of the year and he wasn’t too knowledgeable anyway.

However, I am definitely upset that I got a 4 in World History.

I got a 1 on French last year. It’s an extremely hard test for someone who is less than fluent. oh well. Anyways, the people crying about 4’s astound me. At Skidmore, at least, a 4 gets you the same credit as a 5. I think you guys need to seriously reconsider WHY you’re going to college. You’re basing your self worth off of one extremely hard test. College is about holistic education and making mistakes. No matter how smart you are, you will never get all A’s on everything. There is more to life than scores. Be excited about getting an education simply to learn new things, not to receive A’s. There’s my 2 cents.

I assume those who are crying about getting 4s are going to the top25 schools, where they only grant credit to ap scores of 5. But other than that, there is really no reason to be upset about it as ap scores does little to your admission chances in general.

^Multiple top 25 schools actually do grant credit for getting 4s–although it is sometimes more limited.
