We actually removed a built in microwave to install a double oven as I have a perfect little black hole corner where the microwave now lives, on the counter? The corner was good for nothing before and we are happy with the upgraded over set up.
I can certainly see considering trends, if compatible with own preferences, when doing a remodel. But geez⦠sinking time and money into kitchen remodel just for resale almost never pays (unless maybe for flipping a house with horrific kitchen.) If ya like it, keep it. Not sure what kind of āfriendā volunteers advise otherwise.
A very bossy one ![]()
Thanks, Colorado_mom! Iāve been looking through non-plastic container options for laundry detergent, dish soap, etc. My mom used powered laundry soap in a cardbox box for decades. Not sure why the stores are all filled with plastic jugs now!!
Lol. Her friend IS bossy!! But, sheād just tell yaā that she has better ideas.
I use powdered laundry soap, I get it at Wal-Mart, arm & Hammer, because my annoying fancy front loader will drip liquid soap down the front of the machine hours after a load is done.
I was at World Market and saw a display of hand soap. It was in pretty glass bottles-they had a vanilla something and a pear variety. I bought one of each and put one in the kitchen and one in our guest bath. Haha, never thought about it before, but the glass bottles with pretty labels look much better than the plastic soft soap bottles I had before. I thought of this thread as I paid for them.
Glass in a bathroom just seems a little scary to me, but I am sure they are lovely!
Seeing decorative pineapples always makes me think of CC!
Is this the pear one? It would like good in our bathroom, but I have an old Soft Soap with tropical fish that I like.

Itās a powder bath for guests, not a full bath that someone would be walking around barefoot in. Just has a toilet and lavatory. I didnāt make that clear in my op.
Marilyn, itās not that one. Itās White Pear by Essenza, though I googled it and I didnāt get a hit for it. Itās in a tall glass bottle with chrome-looking pump dispenser. 14 fl. oz.
H bought a stainless foaming dispenser, figuring it would look nicer and work better than the foaming Dawn bottle with a broken spring. Neither of us like it because its rounded shape makes it difficult to hold and pump with one hand. After 4 months the spring in the fancy dispenser is weak. Iām not sure if Iāll try to replace the spring or just buy another ergonomic Dawn foaming dispenser to refill until the irreplaceable spring breaks.
