Not all students take the Writing Composition Placement Test:

So for those required to take it, yes, it would be taken at orientation.

Thanks, alamemom!

Looks like I’m in the clear then.

there are math and foreign language placement tests, though :)

Being an engineer has its perks. We don’t have to take the foreign language or writing placement test, just the VERY easy math placement test. :P

And the math and FL tests are to be taken online BEFORE orientation - it is part of your “Orientation Homework.”

Woo I’ve heard engineers really don’t need writing at all except for GEs. Is that true?

What if I pass the Calc BC AP test with a 5? Still need to take the placement test? I read that exempts you from 2 math classes. (Calc 1 and 2?)

It says if you plan to take a Math class you have to take the placement test [url=http://sait.usc.edu/orientation/testing/math.shtml]Welcome to the USC Orientation Programs Website/url
