Southern California was 9-2-1 and was ranked below NU before that game. The record number of viewers had more to do with the Wildcats than the Trojans. We got the whole nation curious!! We had the largest jump in college application in the following fall. Now, let’s make another history!!!

Sam - as an alum who went there during the years where NU was the perennial football loser (a fact we took perverse pride in) … I distinctly remember watching the 1995 Rose Bowl with my H. We kept saying, “What are we doing watching NU in a bowl event?” It was one of those “did hell just freeze over?” types of moments.

My S would certainly welcome a reappearance of NU in the Rose Bowl. I think if that happened while he’s at NU, we’d have a packed house of students camping on our floors because we’re within easy driving distance of there. I remember watching my UW Seattle Huskies play in the Rose Bowl game. It’s quite the spectacle.
