WVU questions

You shouldn’t have problems getting accepted.

WVU has a high acceptance rate due to it being the flagship university in a small and poor state.

Most other flagship schools have this same mission, however they displace the students through satellite campuses (think PSU).

WVU is very student friendly. Most freshman live in Towers, which is on the Evansdale Campus. Towers is a “typical” dorm with a good dining hall. It’s a great place to live freshman year and it allows you to get to know a large percentage of your class. If you are a social person you will make lots of friends very easily.

WVU’s reputation as a party schools is both accurate and exaggerated. It’s a fun school that definitely does have parties and a strong social scene, but I really can’t say it’s anymore wild than other large schools like PSU, Wisconsin, Michigan, OSU, ect. It’s been tamed a great deal within the past 10 years, still lots of fun, just a bit more mild.

You will have no problem finding peace and quiet. They have an awesome library downtown that is a great place to study in (very modern) and there’s all types of quiet places you could slip away too.

It’s a very nice campus, great place to spend four years of your life. It provides a very good all around college experience with academics, social activities and athletics. It’s considered to have some of the strongest school spirit of any college in the nation and you will see why at your first football game.

Morgantown itself is growing. There has been alot of new development in the last few years with new residential, retail and food complexes constructed.

Remember, WVU/Morgantown is a college town. Nearly everything that goes on in that town revolves around the school, which is something I really liked.
