Xiggi's SAT prep advice

FYI, xiggi announced a few weeks/months ago that he would be taking a break from CC. Don’t expect to see him soon. Luckily, his guide will live forever!

Is the SAT Up app effective? I’ve been thinking of downloading it to my phone so that I can study for the SAT anywhere, but I don’t know if it’s actually going to help me perform better on the test.

Awesome tips thank you!

Ha! @Greninja I came here to CC after getting my March SAT results back, poking around, reading stuff. Found this thread and found your comment! I used SAT Up app for the new sat, and I thought it was awesome. I hated the princeton review class I tried, so getting something more customized while trimming the fat was awesome. Which test did you take, how’d you do?

Can I practice with the old SAT materials for the new SAT??!?!??

I guess you could…but not sure why you would. There are 7 released new tests (#8 to come soon). Xiggi’s advice from all those years ago still applies: start working through the new tests, untimed, doing what it takes to master each one.

I’m not inclined to scroll through 73 pages of posts - is the link in post#1 the latest and greatest?

No, hate to tell you, but it is not. This is a valuable thread but you do have to dig your way through it. Some folks have attempted to condense it and have provided a link to get to the condensed version but Im not sure if you can get to those links. Spend some time going backwards in the thread and hopefully some of the good stuff shows up.

@byadg123 Check out posts 940, 942, 948, 953 and 1022.

@byadg123 - if you are willing to put in the time to prepare well for the SAT, it is well worth your while to scroll through this thread for Xiggi’s gems. You can skip everyone else’s posts, just read his. You will get what you need before too long. You don’t have read everything. Use the New SAT materials. Best of luck!
