Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

^ Word of advice. Don’t read apps after they are are submitted.
Perfectpixie decides to go and check out her how her application looks after submitting

Got my interview date and time! So nervous!

It’s hard to imagine silverturtle being rejected. His stats and personal qualities (at least those exhibited on CC) are admirable. I bet some school officials who frequent or inadvertently wandered onto CC appreciate his talents and generosity.
It would be a great honour for me to meet him in real life.

interviews prolly wont do anything right? yale will be my first and im nervous!!!

^^^^ Yeah I’m not going to read them until after my decision, probably. I’ll have to look at them eventually when I apply to other schools though.

I would assume since it’s the SCEA interview, it’ll be the first for all of us. 43 days to go! Is there any chance they might tell us earlier if we’re in or not?

A quick question: As an international, if I have not submitted finaid forms will my app not be considered EA, or will I just receive an accept, reject, deferral without any info about money?

Thanks

^ I believe it’s the latter.

Yes, it’s the latter.

I feel incredibly dumb right now.
When I clicked to submit my application last night, it led me to the payments page, and after I paid, I assumed that it also submitted my application. However, this morning when I looked at it again, it hadn’t. I submitted my application, but it’s on November 2, past the deadline. Would the admission officers know about this and how would they look at it?

^To be honest, that just plain sucks.

The problem is that if you try to explain it to them, they’ll just think, “If this kid had been more prepared and got his things together a few days earlier, he would’ve realized the mistake before the deadline.”

Now I don’t know what they’ll do, but even if you have to apply RD, your chances remain the same. Yes it would be painful to wait longer, but at least it’s not like you’d be missing out on a golden opportunity with a SCEA boost or something.

Anybody notice that new Class of 2014 profile that’s on the admissions website? Or maybe it’s actually not new, and I just never noticed it before.

Thanks a lot guys… And at ahn123 I did exactly the same as you. I think though that it should be; the things will be sent as an EA app and so when they receive them they will consider them as EA. They take a couple of weeks to sort stuff out anyway

Do you have a link?

I just looked up the Class of 2014 profile, and about 25% of the incoming class is either first generation or legacy. O_O

Crap.

Do you think it’s a benefit if I’m a male (48% compared to 52% female), if I’m from the southwest (5% of incoming class), and if I’m from a religiously affiliated school (8.9% of incoming class)? I certainly hope so, lol!

^Where did you find this profile?

http://admissions.yale.edu/node/2040/attachment

I like how they round Caucasian to 43% instead of going to the tenths place like all the other ethnicities so it just sort of blends in

^Lol
10char

^^ lol I didn’t even notice that. Maybe it really just is 43.0% ?
