Yale 2015 SCEA Hopefuls

raises hand

^I did.

Don’t Stop Believin’–Sam Tsui did a cover of this!

I sent in my CSS Profile before November 1st and turned in my fee waiver request with the application.

I just started a thread about this, but might as well post questions where everybody will read them…

So what happens if I didn’t? I’m planning on just doing everything after January 1st.

^Doesn’t make a difference in terms of admission. You just won’t get a financial aid package estimate with your decision.

That’s what I thought…

I didn’t, and I’m not worried.

Does anyone know when exactly they are going to post decisions online on the 15th? (or where I might find this info)

p.s. I’m one of nine from my school applying scea to Yale in a graduating class of 50 (40 of whom applied early somewhere). I’m so frightened of going to school on the 16th.

^according to last year, around 5 p.m. EST.

So 18% of your class is applying SCEA at Yale? That’s intense.

^Almost 20% of your class applied SCEA?! That’s crazy. I would be scared too…
Thankfully I’m the only one at my school

I’m the only one at my school to embark upon this dreadful task…I know I shouldn’t, but I can’t help but get my hopes up for some miracle to befall on my computer screen December 15. =[

Jesus. I’m one of ten, though my senior class is considerably larger. The competition at my school is pretty intense as well; two of my friends and fellow SCEA applicants are Intel Semifinalists, one’s a USAMO participant and 2 of us have 2400s.

im the only one from my school, and we have a graduating class of 600+…but like
about 20 are applying to stanford ea

It says at 5:00 pm EST

There are two other kids applying SCEA from my school. A bunch of kids are applying early at other places too. The 16th will be an interesting day…

I have successfully worked myself into believing that I will be defered. Like, I am SOOO sure of this…LOL

I guess this is a healthy attitude? If rejected, I will not be tooooo disappointed, and if accepted I’ll be absolutely elated. And of course, if defered, I’ll be real calm… ;)

Me too.

However, many of the early applicants to other schools find out sooner–Columbia and Penn, for example.

I’m pretty much convinced that I will be deferred as well.

^ Yep. I will be happy with a deferral.

I just found out a kid from a neighboring high school got into Yale already. Assuming that’s true, she must’ve been a Questbridge kid, and I extend my best wishes to her!
However, I just saw my insignificant chances dwindle even further :(…
