Guys, no need to feel such pressure. Just imagine looking back to this waiting in 5 years. It’s no big deal. Wherever we end up we will still be who we are, right? I’m not saying that we should not bother about yale’s decision, but just “keep calm and carry on” with our lives. Whether it is a cong or rej, we shouldn’t let one decision affect anything. Anyway, no one can judge us except ourselves.

BTW, I’m quoting my mother. She is one of the inspirations of my life.

Reading this thread is helping me and my excitement. I am the only one from my school to apply to Yale (or any ivy) this year (or ever!!) so being able to talk to other Yale applicants really helps put things in prospective. I can’t wait until Monday! Not sure what to do with my Yale sweatshirt I bought when I visited if I get rejected… It is quite cozy… (:

@awesomenerd
I didn’t get that email, should I be worried…?
And it says that they don’t have my mid-year report but that’s after first semester right?

This kind of sucks, though. I get out at 1 on monday and have to immediately cram for a physics test on tuesday. I don’t know that I’ll be able to focus considering the fact that by 5:00 I could know whether or not I need to pull all nighters every week for the rest of the trimester :(

Just kidding. Guyz chill. It’ll be alright. Five of my friends just got rejected from Stanford and they all still dealt with it positively. It really put things into perspective for me.

i also applied scea to yale, just found this thread and I’m cracking up because it reminds me of something…

i’m in boy scouts. So a few years ago, I’m sitting at this super-intense boy scout election for who’s going to be in charge of the ‘section’ (~the area of a state, depending on the state obviously, but i’m from MO). So something weird has happened with the votes and the advisers are scrambling, pulling out guidebooks and making phone calls and all kinds of stuff. So there’s just been this long, awkward pause between the ~70 of us in the little amphitheatre by the lake. So out of nowhere to break the tension up a little, this kid stands up and shouts “I CAN’T HANDLE THE PRESSURE!” and then jumps into the lake screaming his head off. oh my gosh it was so great.

so anyway I dunno if anyone else thought that was funny, but i at least was amused and felt less pressured for a second. I guess the moral of this story is if you’ve got butterflies in your stomach… go jump into the lake.

Lol thx a lot for your amusing story!!! Comforting indeed. Makes me feel a little bit better. Yale normally accepts one student from my HS each year, and I just really really hope that it’ll be me. Anyway, I need a story like this to laugh about and for a minute forget all these anxieties. :)
