Yale Class of 2019 SCEA Discussion Thread

Eli account portal closed ahhh

@MaximeP No, I am not from France. I’m from a country from the Eastern Block (I won’t give the name because my activities are very recognizable in my country, sorry) :)

@razaza Are u from Pakistan?

They clearly said they dont wish to disclose their location, so let’s respect that, please :)

@minastirith I am not from Pakistan and without being rude, Pakistan isn’t exactly in the Eastern Bloc. I won’t be answering any more questions with regards to my location. :wink:

The closure of the application checklist probably means nothing, but then again, it probably means a lot. Ah… this is annoying!

Hi all-- haven’t been on CC in about a year, but I just wanted to wish everyone luck. I was in this exact same position last december, and the stress nearly ate me alive. Whatever the result-- accept, reject, or defer-- everyone will end up where they belong.

Rest assured, regardless of the result, in a year from now you’ll all be focused on vastly different things!

Gosh, I hope that’s true too, @apesrocks and @planner. I’ve had multiple contacts with admissions after my submisson. I got a phone call the day after thanksgiving. The alum told me I’d “caught the eyes of the admissions office” and they wanted me to do an interview with her that Monday. It was over Skype, because I live in the middle of nowhere and of course no alumni live anywhere near here. It went pretty well…I think…it was like an hour and a half long and from what I’ve read a longer interview usually means better things… I also heard from the office earlier - the rep from my region emailed me saying they needed another letter of recommendation. I sent in one from my band director because I thought that having your recommenders from core areas was merely strongly encouraged and not mandatory. But he mentioned that he was “thoroughly enjoying my application” so far, so hopefully that’s a good sign!

I just want to know! I’m glad I’m not the only one anxious about it. At my school I am the only one who has to wait for a decision… And when I explained what deferral was, my friends were in disbelief that I could possibly have to wait so long for a decision.

Sorry, that’s me responding to a post about 10 pages ago…

@ditherer This all sounds positive to me—only a few more days now! Good luck!

@ditherer‌ I think you are already in!

I’m so scared of rejection. The suspense has been killing me. I’ve been watching Yale acceptance videos on youtube, which has only made it worse :-S

That has been my life while waiting…

@paleselan I love that song.

I hate the fact that they just say “in the evening.” Does anyone know around what time that will be? Otherwise I will probably be sitting at my computer for four hours in agony…

Historically, it has been 5

@candidate96 5 PM EST

Good luck to you all! Fingers crossed

I got an interview notification yesterday, though I have already been deferred. Going to either choose next week or after winter break. (I’m questbridge applicant before many new people start to panic :wink: )

@emenya Good luck! Just make sure your true to yourself and don’t say anything you can’t back up. Interviewers are generally polite (at least mine was). Come prepareed to ask and answer questions such as why Yale and what can you do for Yale.

I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait all my friends have already found out!!! Why is Yale so cruel :frowning: ?!?
