yea i saw capote with my English class because we’re studying his book In Cold Blood. I LOVED In Cold Blood, but to be honest, Capote as portrayed in the movie seemed a bit melodramatic
but he’s an amazing author.

I saw the Squid and the Whale – it was hilarious and had a great ending.

Ahh I love Rent! I saw it on Broadway for my birthday and it was amazing
I’m going to the Village after school on Wednesday with my friends, and we’re dressing up as the characters to see the movie. Yes, we are quite lame.

I can’t wait for Memoirs of a Geisha either.
and Harry Potter today!!!

i saw harry potter and it was very good. but i kind of wish harry didn’t have a mullet.

Ewww harry potter…Lol.
Could anyone be so kind as to enlighten the international community here…what is Rent all about?

www.siteforrent.com

The most unique themes are AIDS and tolerance.

Thanks theoneo:)

AAAAAAAA!!!
I just saw Pride and Prejudice! It’s a TRAVESTY!
A TRAVESTY, I SAY!
Ugh, it was like the story of P&P in the style of Wuthering Heights (shudder)!
They completely ruined the dialog (probably the BEST part of the novel) and Eliza’s character. I’m sorry. Keira Knightly is NOT Elizabeth Bennet. No way. And Donald Sutherland as Mr. Bennet? Yuck!
Seriously, if you want to see a great movie version of Pride and Prejudice, see the BBC version with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. It’s probably the best movie rendition of a novel ever created.

Gorbachev, I beg to differ. The BBC version of Jane Eyre rivals even P&P (I’ve watched both at least six times, all 4 hours of the first and 6 hours of the second
and did extensive analytical comparison–as much as you can vegging out for several days in sum
). The story is much more insightful and covers broader settings; it’s not so squeaky-clean Victorian ideals. Colin Firth’s cuter than the guy who plays Mr. Rochester, though.

Charlotte totally beats Emily, I give you that.

Oh, of course Jane Eyre was good. I just happen to like Pride and Prejudice better for subjective reasons. I must say, I’ve never been a huge fan of any of the Bronte sisters. Jane Eyre was the best any of them produced. The movie was extremely well done.
But you must admit, the Keira Knightley version of P&P was an absolute disaster.

She also almost ruined Bend It Like Beckham by flaunting her emaciated figure. It was very distracting.

2200th post!

Ah, see, I loved Bend it Like Beckham. That’s more her style. But please. A classic work of literature? Not so much.

keira knightly’s ****in hot

wow…every review i’;ve read has trashed the mr.darcy of the new p&p but they all say kiera is great…

i have 2 see it. although the bbc version with colin firth makes my heart flutter. <3 colin firth and that 6 hour movie.

i liked the guy who played mr. darcy…all the reviews i’ve read just talk about how hot keira knightley is.

Sorry, but Keira is complete crap in that movie (although the horrid writing probably had something to do with it). Eliza is supposed to be lady, always gracious and composed even when she is suffering. In this version, she’s moody, angsty, not witty at all, and hardly composed and gracious. Bleh.
And I hated how the characters would always talk at the same time! These people are very civilized! They don’t talk out of turn. The dialogue is much too choppy.

man, that stinks! I was really looking forward to P&P, but if Eliza isn’t witty…

Stick with the 1994 version. You’ll squirm with delight.
