Hello parents. Question, I received the 1098 from Yale for the Spring semester 2018 and since my son graduated past May this is the last we have for reflect on IRS. But it just reflects the amount of grant received and not the total amount billed and what we paid for. How did you do your last filing?
@Saona63: I would call Yale and speak with someone in the financial aid office.
FWIW: If you go back and look at your 1098-T for 2017, the form should have a box checked indicating it includes the amount of qualified tuition billed for the Spring semester of 2018. Therefore, as your son graduated in May of 2018, your 1098-T for 2018 should NOT include any billed tuition, as it already appeared on the 2017 form.
I’m not sure what’s up with the grant money, as that should also have been reported on your 1098-T for 2017. However, that may have changed due to federal law. See: https://student-accounts.yale.edu/tax-reporting-documents

Lost but soooo close. How exciting for the team that they made it that far.
My son was a manager for the team the last two years and had a great time with them. We flew to Jacksonville to cheer them on. Such fun!

Just cannot believe that my child is going to graduate from this wonderful wonderful place in three weeks!

Quick question for the Graduation Brunches offered at their Residential Halls.
Do most families attend both brunches (Sun and Mon)? or only small groups?
We are thinking to reserve ahead (to save some money) but a bit unsure.
What are your experience and advice?
