Interview, no FA, half-a-hook. Strong everything, public (magnet) feeder. Definitely NOT a standout standout.

There are only 24 hours left so we’ll know soon enough. But I cant help but feel extremely disappointed already since having a SID in your portal seems to me to indicate that you’ve been except, and I dont have one.

To be honest, it probably doesn’t mean anything. Even though it’s on the admissions checklist instead of FA, I think it’s the same ID they would have assigned you had they asked for additional documents. And looking at CC from last year and reddit, many people who got the SID got rejected and many got accepted.

Think about this: Do you think Yale AOs would make it as easy as looking for a student ID on your portal to figure out if they got in or not before the official date. That doesn’t seem like an oversight they would make.

Oh absolutely, if anyone is worrying I’d say don’t worry, I was in a similar boat with the interview and wondering about it. Worrying or not makes no difference on how you’ll feel after the decision, makes you feel worse before and sullys an acceptance

Totally true, I’ve found distracting myself usually works if I’m waiting to hear back on a math final I need or something else. I usually go run a few miles (I am a bad runner so being out of breath distracts me), play a high action videogame that forces your mind to focus or read my favourite book. Or just hop on a call with some friends and do something! Hope today isn’t too bad if you’re worrying, I’m sorry for anyone who’s worrying about this because I mentioned it

Please don’t think too much about the interviews. It is done by a big group of alums (mostly) with little professional training in interviewing people, with different backgrounds, personalities, ages, professions, geographical locations, moods on the day of interview etc. It would be really hard to use or compare these interview reports. In most cases, the interview reports will not change the outcomes. Just my $0.02.
