<p>Yale’s 17.9% EA acceptance rate is roughly equal to the overall acceptance rate. Even pulling the EAs out of the mix, it appears that the advantage of applying EA isn’t that great in terms of improving one’s overall chances (unless the EA pool is less qualified than the RD pool.) The EA advantage appears to be just a few %.</p>
<p>In 2001 under ED, 39.6% were admitted to yale ED, albeit out of a much smaller pool of 1262.</p>
<p>Princeton still has ED, with a 29% acceptance rate, If it’s a tossup between Princeton and Yale, ED princeton seems the way to maximize one’s chances of getting into one or the other.</p>
