You know you're old when...

I suspect that the people who are still on CC are not the ones who are really old. Remember that you’ll never again be as young as you are right now. Appreciate and enjoy your youth!

When your stylist tells you to book her for an extra half hour to get all the gray out of your hair

When the kids in your college class say “hey you know who Wonder Woman is?” when they see you wearing a Wonder Woman t shirt. Hello, the first WW comic came out in 1941!!! (Lynda Carter is still “my” Wonder Woman touchstone, though).

When your 15 year old is reading Ready Player One at the same time you are and you have to explain all the 80’s cultural references (I was 15 in 1985).

When kids half your age spend more time on their phones than you do, texting, Instagramin’, etc. AND I’M ONLY 17

When tiny print just becomes decorative filigree. I don’t even try anymore. If it’s that tiny, it’s not important.

When you got to a health and fitness fair and someone from the Seniors booth comes over to you with pamphlets.

…when the clothes in the back of your closet that you think you may someday fit into again are back in style.

when introducing my kids to movies I loved when I was in my teens and having to hit pause to explain things like:

-phone booths
-standalone arcade games
-boom boxes
-telephone modems
-the cold war

lol

When, as someone who has been relatively tiny her whole life (just through genes, btw), I now hesitate to look at photos of myself even if I think I remembered to hold my chin up and suck in my tummy! Whose wrinkles and a bit puffy features are those, anyway?

When I look at my hands and see my Mom’s hands, which are lovely–they really are. It’s just a bit shocking.

When I forget to moisturize my legs for a while, and they look like wrinkly parchment.

@MiamiDAP - I’m not sure how old you are but I’m 54 and we used punch cards at my CS job after college…

When your DH keeps telling you that you ought to buy a chain to keep your readers around your neck instead of having one in every room in the house. :frowning:

Remember when floppy disks were really floppy? Remember floppy disks at all?

Remember writing away for information?

Remember when it was illegal to own an operating phone? We had to lease the phones from Ma Bell.

Ah, Ma Bell.

Remember wanting to order a sea monkey?

Coming up on my 50th…and I remember vividly my grandfather’s 50th celebration. Sheesh.

I’m 37. But I told my mom she is old because she is old enough to remember when TV went off. lol

you remember when we had fewer than 10 channels on the TV, and stations signed off the air (that happened alot when I was babysitting).

Fewer than 10? I must be ancient! I remember when we had 4 TV channels. Pre-cable: the three networks and one PBS station.

And yes, every station went off the air at midnight.

@BeeDAre Remember the “test patterns”?

when you used a Walkman when you ran and have janet Jackson miss you much on your ipod along with guns and roses…

When you realize the Star Wars prequel trilogy came out when you were in high school, and that was 17 years ago!

When your only use for the GPS is the voice directions; you can’t actually read the little map since that would require reading glasses, and you’re wearing distance glasses for driving.
