We delegated that chore to my daughter. Apparently, she inherited my dislike for putting away dishes too.
Years ago when my parents visited Dad would unload the dishwasher (as he did at their home). Heâd leave a âduh pileâ when he wasnât sure where things went. H is the dishwasher unloader now , but still leaves out items heâs not sure of. I actually appreciate that so I can find them next time I want to use them. I tell him where things go, but he often forgets/isnât listening
.
LOL. I keep rearranging things. Everyone gets a pass.
âWhatâsâ the location of the dishwasher pods?
âWhereâ is only one of the words on my ignore list. âWhatâ is not far behind. All trigger my domestic deafness. Wiliness is not rewarded in this household.
In our household, this would probably start a counter ignore list for âHowâ questions with respect to computers, electronic devices, networks etc. that have probably been answered numerous times before. This week, the dishwasher wasnât working (I consulted Dr Google and found a few possible meanings of the error code and solved the problem.). ShawWifeâs computer was not retaining a charge. I check all possiblities and isolated and solved the problem. Computer running very slowly with Photoshop, etc.
In our house, we like to say that ShawWife handles the visible (all physical objects). This morning, I couldnât figure out how to get my bike into the back of my car and she came down and just figured it out in seconds. She is much faster, facile and capable with physical objects and I am not. And I handle the invisible (planning, investments, taxes, insurance, travel, computers, networks, electronics, online shopping if one is trying to get it delivered quickly and have the price be low, etc.). I am infinitely faster, facile and capable withe the invisible areas, which tend to cause her great anxiety.
