Your favorite ice cream reveals your personality

<p>Richard Feynman told a story about his dessert decision: he realized at the dining hall that he was spending a lot of time thinking about what he should have for dessert so he decided to simplify, eliminate the extra thinking and always have chocolate ice cream.</p>

<p>It’s amusing: most people enjoy thinking about dessert so they wouldn’t want to give up those thoughts. They’d rather give up thinking about math. </p>

<p>As for me, I realized at an early age that I really like chocolate and really like vanilla but I also realized that each varies substantially from place to place, brand to brand. So I decided I preferred the question mark chocolate to question mark vanilla and mostly eat that. I’m more willing to bet on the quality of the chocolate.</p>

<p>But in Boston we have a surfeit of extremely high quality ice cream - NE eats the most ice cream by a substantial margin and that’s true all year round. One problem is people screw with the chocolate so it’s no longer that taste. It may be great but it may be really awful - and expensively awful. So now I’m eating more of other flavors peculiar to the JP Licks, Christina’s, etc. we have that don’t exist in many places. </p>

<p>All this typing from someone who eats ice cream a few times a year. I analyze everything.</p>

<p>This is a fun thread!
I apologize in advance for going off on a tangent.:o</p>

<p>I go through phases where I eat a lot of frozen stuff, popsicles ( dole coconut), ice cream bars, gelatos, sorbets etc, & I like to experiment with recipes. Strawberry basil was a big hit.
I just don’t care for ice cream with a lot of stuff in it/Ben & Jerrys-( except for -Chunky monkey, but coldstone creamery :stuck_out_tongue: ::::::::shudder::::::::
I’ve also eaten ice cream made from soy, coconut or goat milk.
Goat milk, isn’t bad but the others-…although I do like vanilla Tofutti cuties on occasion. Like when I have small children visiting.
I eat my ice cream from either a gluten free sugar cone, or from a set of vintage bowls, [it keeps the servings small](<a href=“Johnson Bros. Indies Blue Ironstone Fruit/dessert sauce Bowls 2 - Etsy”>Johnson Bros. Indies Blue Ironstone Fruit/dessert sauce Bowls 2 - Etsy)
H eats his from a big cereal bowl, but H is one of those guys who practically weighs the same as he did in high school.
( Im surprised that Utah isn’t #1 in consumption- but they * do *eat the most lime flavored Jello-)
Where I would like to visit for ice cream, is Texas. A friend from Dallas told me they have ice cream parlors where you can have liqueurs for toppings! I bet they dont have *that * in Utah!
H & I grew up with [Farrell’s</a> Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants](<a href=“http://www.farrellsusa.com/]Farrell’s”>http://www.farrellsusa.com/), but I think the last one in our area closed decades ago. Now the ice cream shops are mostly " artisanal".</p>
