Ann Taylor today. Outlet mall. And 50% off whole store! I came out with seven total outfits for $429. Woot!

I was happy to use a $10 off coupon for purchase of at least $20. I bought two 8mb flash drives @ $13.99 apiece, so after the discount, they were $8.99 apiece plus two rulers @ $.01 apiece!

Yesterday I picked up a tall lamp at a garage sale with two adjustable heads (like the typical college desk lamps) for $2 at a garage sale. It goes perfectly with the decor Iâve planned for my room next year.

We also found the same exact MP3 player my brother and I both use sealed new in the box at a garage sale for $15, originally $60. My little brotherâs has seen so much use that the buttons are failing so he was glad to get a backup.

Finally, my mom purchased a TON of 1980s G.I. Joe vehicles, sets, and accessories, plus some assorted other 80s toys (and two Transformers) for $20. We could probably make a profit if we wanted to sell some of the stuff thatâs in better shape, but my older brother got so excited about the stuff that I donât think weâll be parting with any of it until his son is at least 12. :D

H is happy that he was finally able to redeem his raincheck for the Sam Sung $199 monitor that is 24." The quality is great and he has high hopes it will work well for him. He also bought a router at Costco for $89 (again top of the line), because the one we have free from the DSL provider is getting sporadic/flaky and we thought a backup is a good idea.

HImom-

Interested in your Costco router purchaseâŠDS wants to upgrade our houseâs wireless routerâŠitâs the one supplied yearâs ago when DSL installed by provider.

Can you really just replace it? ie will a Costco router work with my Verizon DSL setup?
Sorry to be so dense about this stuffâŠbut DS will just âyesâ me that sure it will all work and then possibly make a mess in my home office and I will be internet-less!

It depends on your current setup. I have a modem from Verizon and my own router. If Verizon provides a combination modem/router (not sure if these exist or if they provide them), then you may not have the option. If they provide separate modem and router, then itâs probably doable. Did you pay for the router or was it bundled in as a freebie?

This is a personal good buy - out of town today and stopped at one of my favorite places - the Eddie Bauer warehouse. SOOOOOOOOO lucky! The guy announced that the register ladies were unpacking some shoes up front - they would all be 50%. I told my D to run up front and see if there was anything good in a size 9 - she came back with a pair of purple Keens!!! SCORE!!! Keens for $42!!! The rest of the shoes were very random - SO lucky she grabbed these! Also picked up shorts for $9.99 but the Keens were the real buy. :)

Update on the toys - Weâve been pricing them out and theyâre easily worth two hundred. Now we are arguing whether or not to sell certain pieces. I think we may reach a compromise by just selling the Coleco stuff to get our money back, since none of us really want it.

More goodwill stuffâŠI really wanted cotton pajamasâŠnot a knitâŠjust plain cotton fabric. I searched and searched (the only ones I previously found were at Nordstrom RackâŠbut not my size). Yesterday I got two sets at GW (One Ralph LaurenâŠthe other a no name brand but very cute capri length bottoms, 3/4 sleeve topâŠperfect for summer)âŠfor a grand total of $9âŠohâŠwith the TAGS still on them.

I just purchased one of those desktop charging stations for $15.00 at Tuesday Morning. It came with a 6 outlet power strip, which I think makes it a great deal! They had them in brown and black.

Iâve been tracking airfares and have confirmed that I bought my round-trip tickets Chicago-San Jose on the best possible day - July 23, first day taxes werenât being collected. $252 round trip - havenât seen fares like that in a long time. Now Iâm just hoping I can use the tickets - it will be 5 1/2 weeks after DHâs hip replacement and I wonât leave town unless he can get around on his own. At least itâs SW so if I have to cancel I wonât lose the money.

I was happy to get one of my daughterâs books bought for just under 200.00 using Amazon Prime. Almost all of the 12 were cheaper than her bookstore and although she is waiting for one more, felt this was the best we have done with textbooks/literature.

We also bought some nice tee shirts from J Crew outlet for 12.99 and they had a 40% off coupon.

We also used Amazon Prime. I would have liked to have shopped some other sites and tried to save more money, but we donât have enough time to take chances (we had to return a book last year that was not the book we ordered). We feel Amazon is reliable and everything was either less expensive through them than the schoolâs bookstore, or if they were equal in price it was because the bookstore was selling a used book and for the same price we could get a brand new copy through Amazon.

I found the same thing Northeastmom, I had to look twice one time, because a new on Amazon was much cheaper than a âusedâ on her bookstore. Also her store has a policy that if they donât have the used you can have a new on default or not get it, Iâd rather just know we are getting it.

My daughter hasnât been charged and it has been a yearâŠanyone else have that happen? The ad now says 6 months. Her sister was waiting for hers to end and then she would sign up so they would share it.

The bookstore as sonâs school has the same policy. Additionally, my son told me that not all of the books are even in by the first week of class so he would prefer that we order it elsewhere.

Yes, I agree that is less stressful. One professor said to be careful with one book, there are a lot of various additions out there, but I would think with ISBN numbers, you wouldnât have a problem. I was so glad when they said they had to give ISBN numbers, it makes it much easier.

I was surprised not to see ISBN numbers online! I do think that we still have all the right books though.

The problem that we had last year was that we got an âinstructorâs editionâ even though it was NOT sold to us as such. We did get a full refund and we did get our money back that we spent on shipping the book back, but it was an inconvenience that we did not need.

That happened to my son, a Spanish book, he got the teachers addition. (thrid party seller with this one)
My daughterâs school gave the ISBN numbers with the books at the bookstore, we just copy/pasted the number in the search at Amazon and it came up.

So do you mean that she was physically in their store and picked up a list of ISBN numbers? We would not be able to do that.

My s was usually able to figure out the ISBN numbers from the author/title of the books. Its worth a try
