Has anyone tried the Amazon 30 day free trail Prime??? Any quirks or tricks with it???
Prime isnāt nearly as good a deal as it used to be. The price has gone up a lot, many items are not prime-eligible unless combined with other items, plus the prime price is often more than the price+ shipping from an Amazon marketplace vendor.
Theyāve added some cloud based stuff like music and storage that gets included with prime, if this has worth for you that might swing the value equation.
I really just want the 30 day free trial! I donāt know if I would use it enough other times of the year to make it worth it. Not at the prices for prime these days. So Iām sort of just asking about the free trial.
Ah, canāt help you there, there was no free trial back when I signed up.
I would bet you have to proactively cancel before the free trial is up, though, or you will get automatically enrolled.
Yep:
Yeah, I started the clicking for the free trial but then it was asking me to confirm my credit card - which made me uncomfortable that I was going to get somehow charged somewhere along the line!
I think that you need to decide how many items you will order from Amazon.
Our family will think, āwe need mintsā, āwe need shampooā,
and then the larger orders.
We simply order things that we do not want to drive to Target for and the prices match or are lower.
We live on a difficult to navigate lane so think that UPS rightfully hates us.
I am not good at consolidating my orders. Just go online any minute of any day and get what we need.
Hate bothering to drop by a storeā¦
My point being that if you are not a true online shopper then you may not find Prime a good deal.
I love that they have my credit card so I just do the āorder it nowā click.
Seriously, other than a true grocery store this is our main place to go.
I think Prime (weāve had it for 5 years) made me more of an on-line shopper. Without it, I would wait until I had $25 to make the free shipping. Once I got Prime, I got lazier and more apt to just buy things here and there.
Iāve done the free Prime trial a couple of times over the last few years. I just make sure I make a note of when the 30 days is up so I can cancel before they bill my credit card. Iāve had no problems.
My daughter had some things from ModCloth on her list. I hadnāt shopped online there and was able to get $20 off of $100. My order was $89 so I just found another random gift for someone (some adorable leggings) to get me just over $100 - so, 3 nice gifts for $80ish dollars!!!
Clicked on Neimanās site - got a pretty picture and a message āWeāll be back shortly.ā Are they kidding? On a Black Friday?!
H works really long hours and does a lot of Amazon ordering. He ferrets out unique things for gifts that you wouldnāt find locally, and has found some good items for his various collections. And books, of course. I order mostly clothes for D and random stuff and books. We split the membership from back when you could add other family members at the same address-not sure if you can still do that? But it pays for itself easily, even as the cost has gone up. Dās prom dress alone paid for last yearās membership, given that she needed a custom fit, which we got from Amazon for under $100.
Looks like cyber Monday wars heating up
Here is a list of some of offerings-
Did you know this about target ?

I did some damage on JCrew Factory this morning - 50% off original prices + 15% more with code and free shipping on all purchases.
Everything I tried to buy on Target says itās out of stock online, so for me the Cyber Monday sale is a bust, and I was looking forward to it.
I made the mistake of walking away from my computer early this morning after putting a dozen or so items in my cart on Targetās website. When I returned, it was down. Iāve tried repeatedly to complete my purchase, but get messages saying either āthereās a lineā and asking me to try again (which does nothing) or Iām not authorized to access the page. I finally decided thereās nothing at Target that I need so badly to waste any more time on it.
Over the weekend I made several purchases from Amazon, and have noticed that the prices today are the same as I paid Friday - Sunday. Loweās is offering free shipping with no minimum purchase requirement. That saved me a drive in the rain to buy some hardware dh requested and it will arrive before he has time to use it.
I noticed that Amazon dropped a price 15% on an item I had sitting in my cart. Perhaps matching Target today? Might want to try to price your Target purchases at Amazon.
I think Iāve done most, maybe all of my Christmas shopping on line. My cc is smoking.
I bought mostly from Nordstrom, banana republic and one thing from Macyās. A couple of things from target but bought yesterday not today.
Today only, buy a cheesecake factory giftcard online and get two slices of joy for free. (cheesecake)
Have had horrible experience with the body shop. They shipped me the wrong items and I had to go to the store to return them. That store didnāt have what was needed in stock so went to another store to purchase. (Sunday)
Cyber Monday the items are all marked down online but not at the store. Called customer service and they wouldnāt credit my account. Going to the store again to return the items bought Sunday. Ordered online and saved $22. Never shopping there again.
