I received my 20% off coupon for Ulta in my email this morning. Time to restock foundation, primer, cleanser…
Our Goodwill has a huge inventory of office furniture that it’s trying to unload, and H’s home office chair was well past its prime, so we went to take a look. He found a solid, heavy-duty, high-backed chair for $10. In fact, ALL of the office chairs were $10 or less. There was a sign near them that said the chairs listed for $300 new. I belive it, having had to order office furniture for work.
Patient in today said he got $125 back with the Amazon settlement.
After all the discussion about flying Southwest, I finally booked a flight. Nonstop from Boston to Columbus (that in and of itself is unusual), $88.
That is not as good a deal, however, as the mini-vacation I booked for D and I for her birthday - Columbus to Savannah (heading to Florida for part of it) for $44 each way, each. Yup ![]()
Also tried autoslash.com for the car rental and it found us one from the airport in Savannah for a week for $120 (so far, it will keep looking and rebook if it finds better) - the best i could find on my own, and I am pretty good at this, was $210!
Columbus to Savannah? $44? What airline was that?
Allegiant. Out of Rickenbacker. Seasonal flights mostly to Florida and a few other places. Nickel and dimed for everything but with one checked bag (we share) and no assigned seats, using a debit card, the total was $208 round trip for both of us
Saks now has 65% off some clearance items - 2 days only, access through a link in their email. Ordered a dress.
We rented a car in Denver–Costco rate for 10 days was > $900. We used Enterprise and asked for the patient rate, as that was why we were traveling and the med center had a contract. We saved over $600! We had a big mix up when we went to pick up the car, so we were allowed to chose any car in the lot and have a free tank of gas! H chose an Audi, as he had never driven one.
We are now renting a car for D while hers is being repaired. The shop has a contract with Enterprise–$10 for 1st day and $26.99/day thereafter.
The Hampton Inn Hotel we stayed at during medical evaluation also had a patient rate that was about 1/2 of the “regular” rack rate. Because I have the Hilton AmEx Surpass card, got a free upgrade, as gold member did facing CC.
For the Hilton we are staying at in Pasadena, we’re being given free hot buffet breakfasts every morning for 2, including omlet bar, due to CC!
I got $95 in the BN settlement. Does anyone know if this will be accepted for textbooks?
The BN page says it will apply to anything bought on bn.com or through a nook or phone app.
Amazon is applying it to anything you buy on amazon.com, not just books.
D got a new charcoal grey blazer at Banana Republic for under $20–normal price is $129! It fits her nicely.
New to Priceline for hotel rooms, booked an excellent room half price in Chicago in May, yesterday daughter used an additional 10% off coupon, booked a 4 1/2 star room , Gold Coast for $86 - I checked trivago, Expedia, and the hotel’s deals on their website lest expensive room ( for one night in July) $160
Another hotel deal here, although not as good as the ones from @SouthJerseyChessMom or @HImom. We’re going to Sacramento in two weeks and I booked a room at a Hilton brand hotel because I like that brand, I have their CC and it’s our anniversary. It was their lowest price but a little splurgy. Yesterday I got an e-mail saying that all of their rooms were 25% off for honors members. The same room was going for $40 less per night! Booked that one, then cancelled the other. I did the same thing with a recently rented car from Costco. I decided to check the price of a previously reserved car and found it had gone down $20. Booked the car, then cancelled the old one.
I often rebook cars on Costco if rates fall and cancel higher rates.
Autoslash rebooked my rental car yesterday, saving another $20
No Brexit bargains, but got a pair of pumps with Hawaiian flowers, 40%. The talk about uniforms made me think about my shoes - they are so monotonous.
A nice little addition to my shoe collection will be walking around the office soon, and a well used pair went into the trash can.
DD ordered a gorgeous raincoat from ASOS on sale last night and got 10% discount with her student email.
@SouthJerseyChessMom, you sure scored that hotel. I use priceline all the time now and really like their express deals.
BTW, where did your daughter find the 10% off coupon?
@4beardolls I received an email from Priceline about a 48 hour promotion extra discount with code, and yes these were “express deals”
Correction the code was for 5% off express deal a previous email from Priceline offered 10% off express deals- again purchased within 48 hours !
