Perhaps the climate control conditions in the storage facility made rancidity a moot point, Bunsen. No untoward smells or separation or anything was present. (That has only happened to the liquid fabric softeners kept in my laundry room where, wouldn’t you know, I run the washer at super hot temps for sheets and pillow cases, and run the dryer.)
Now that I think about it, I did write the storage facility manager a letter thanking them for the excellent care of the items, and noting the superb condition they were all in.
@Waiting2exhale I have sensitive skin too (though I didn’t used to, age seems to have gifted me this) and for fabric softener, I do something my mom did for my skin-sensitive sister-use baking soda. Doesn’t smell as nice as those commercial products, but it does seem to work.
We use baking soda or borax in our laundry. It seems to boost the detergent and helps all our clothing be odor free. I don’t like anything scented, as we are all sensitive to scents.
D16 told me she will bring the backpack she has used the past couple of years to college. It’s in excellent condition. Last night I ordered a Mountainsmith backpack rain cover that she can use over her backpack during wet weather. I went through Ebates, ordered from Ebags, used my Ebags reward (if you buy anything from them you get a reward on future purchases - great program) and found a free shipping code and paid with my air miles credit card. I think I’m getting the hang of this!
It wasn’t something I bought , but something my daughter bought for me. It was an Italian piece of pottery in a pattern I have a platter in. She went into Sur la Table and it was on sale for $11 . When she went to pay for it, it rang up for a penny…so the cashier and manager let her have it for a penny
@lje62 - the cashier has to give it to you for what it rings up for. Great buy! My D and I have had this happen a couple of times to us where something rings up for a penny.
DD works in retail. Things that ring as a penny should have been retired from the floor. But they really are a penny since they have been written off and that is the lowest value that can be assigned to id it.
I know I’ve told this before but it still makes me smile… Several years ago I had 30% off coupon and some Kohl’s cash to waste. DS needed a blender, so selected on that was $54.99 that was on sale for $34.99. With all the coupons and discounts, it rang up for $7 and change… with a $10 rebate!!! They paid me almost $3 to buy it! Score!
I take that back. I remember getting gas for my car once and instead of regular price I think it was five cents/gallon (something like that) I remember filling my tank for less than a $1. It was not only me but the customers around me getting the same deal because that is what the machine said and I purchased premium. I kept checking my cc receipt to make sure I was seeing ok.
I was in Target today picking up some school supplies. While there I noticed they currently have a mini fridge on sale if anyone is looking. I could have sworn it was just under $65 in store, but when I just looked online it’s listed $58.99.
I finally decided to go ahead and order the Longchamps expandable tote at Nordstrom, and now my color is not available. Hopefully it will show up again on Friday.
@1214mom, have you tried calling a Longchamps outlet? They may be able to ship one to you. The prices are great. Here is the one that I use: Woodbury Common Premium Outlets
