Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Scored a one cent deal at Nordstrom Rack.
Google it.
Originally priced at $385, marked down at NR to $77 but when I took it to the register…the price was $.01
It is still for sale at Neimans, Saks, Bergdof Goodman for over $150.

Shopping equivalent of finding a unicorn…

Figured out Lowe’s had a TV deal (along with hammers I guess!) and Best Buy was matching it. Who woulda thunk?

Saved 30% on sale items at Nordstrom Rack. Total came to $430 and receipt says I saved $950. D2 got several Christmas presents including a black embroidered bomber jacket with a regular price tag of $595 for $89.

Got a gently worn (maybe once or twice) Max Mara blazer dirt cheap! $68 for a $700 item that sold out at that price last winter… I don’t mind being a year or two behind the “trend” when the piece is classic. Will take it to the cleaners with Mr.'s suit after he is done holiday partying…

@beerme, I once got a very nice dress for just a penny. I was returning it, because I realized it was too fancy for my normal self. But when they said it was a penny, I repurchased it. I still haven’t worn it, but hey, I can afford to waste a penny

Your shopping trophy…even if you never wear the dress…you still have the story.

Wow, I’ve never found a unicorn but hope you enjoy yours @beerme

Thanks much!

@gouf78 - saw the tv at Lowe’s when we were there Friday when DS#2 was buying DS#1 a weed whacker and blower (much needed gift). DS #1 stopped to look at the tv but his wife made him move along.

@beerme You deserve a unicorn. You really do!

To (mis) quote Oprah…You get a unicorn!..you get a unicorn!..you get a unicorn!

Land’s End is 50 percent off everything today. Free shipping over $50. I got presents for sister and brother-in-law, but didn’t hit $50, but did when I got myself a shirt for just $8.

This may not be a “good buy” but IMO it’s a GREAT unique idea for a gift! My D’s would LOVE this - they are both advocates of having flowers/vases in various rooms.

These (Ivory Ella) are very popular with preteen / teen girls in our area. 10% goes to help save elephants. Today is Giving Tuesday with a special buy a hat and they donate a new cost to a needy child.

This isn’t a buy that would appeal to a wide audience, but my sister alerted me to a Groupon for lightsaber classes that ended today, and I got one in time-for a place right down the street, and 60% off of the usual studio price for DH, who has a thing for Star Wars. Goes to the “comic con” and everything. Original price $149, down to $58. I cannot wait to give it to him.

@sseamom Now that is cool! Can you take video of him getting to know the force?

Not sure if this is a good deal, but after much aggravation, many phonecalls and inconsistent empty promises and such, my newspaper subscription is supposedly extended through the end of next year and with the $20 AmEx giftcard they are supposedly sending me, the annual cost is about what I paid last year, which is all I asked for (since we put it on vacation hold a lot due to travel, get fewer papers and terrible delivery and customer service). Will see if the giftcard ever actually arrives, but the manager supposedly gave me her direct phone line. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t…

Bought a google home mini from Walmart for $29. After I activated it, I got a $25 gift card to Walmart. It’s in something called Google express which I think is like Apple Pay but hey I know I can spend $25 no matter how I get it.

I missed the Walmart deal but ordered (awaiting delivery) of the $29 google mini from Best Buy which came with a $10 e-gift certificate.

What’s the difference between a Google Home Mini and whatever is the full sized one??? I’m not really up to date on these devices.
