Your Kids Toys You Just Won't/Didn't Part With

YES, THE WAFFLE BLOCKS!!! Those are in my mom’s basement. Not getting rid of those suckers either!!! (my kids ADORED them! - they have been known to sneak them out for a peek at Grandma’s house!

We kept just a few VHS tapes for memories sake - like saving a couple of old 8 track tapes.

Irreplaceable VHS home videos can be transferred to DVD. Costco and other places offer those services. We bought a pretty cheap VHS/DVD player that can do the job of transferring. We got it at Costco six or seven years ago, and are slooooowwwwly working at it. There are also ways to transfer VHS to your computer and the cloud, but personally I want a hard copy.

Most old VHS commercial movies are available on DVD, if you want to replace them. We’ve done that with a few of our kids very favorite (and somewhat obscure) movies. The Land Before Time movies and The Rescuers Down Under were a few that we replaced. We donated the vast majority of the old commercial VHS tapes awhile ago. They take up too much space, and are available in other forms.

^But what you can’t get is the older version of Star Wars which ds swears is better than the new improved version. Lucas won’t make the older version available. :frowning:

You said toys, not books. But we culled those, too.

Donated the Berenstain Bears paperbacks. Kept all of the Dr. Suess (of course) and the Disney books that may not be found again. Plus a few of his favorites from early years. Any other books he took with or they are gone. We have the first six Harry Potter hardcover books but son has the seventh. His age correlated with Harry’s as they came out as well. Saved kid books from India brought by inlaws- irreplaceable and part of his cultural heritage.

HS medals/articles et al- he took with. Those kid soccer trophies every child gets- gone. Likewise with the toy vehicles- after saving them decided to give them away since they aren’t that special to him, even if I’d never find another cherry picker… The photos of so much will have to do.
