Civilization in the West by Kishlansky, O’Brien, Geary, beginning after chapter 9 (provides important background until the Renaissance chapter, 11, where the AP technically begins), is everything you need for a 5, if you read it and study the text quite thoroughly. I had a tough teacher who basically had us memorize, but I guess it paid off. I got a 5 last year, very confidently.

I also read through Princeton Review once before the test. Took some practice DBQs, etc.
Basically, work hard with any text, and you should be ok. The text I used was very thorough… the authors are EXTREMELY reputable (Kishlansky teaches British history at Harvard).
