Bugspray for the room?

gamomof3- I thought D was moving in early too. But I have been corrected : )
She will be on a debate retreat starting Monday and will move in to the dorms on Wed. Who knows where she is staying Mon/Tues night???

I am thinking H and I will drive up on Wed with the rest of her things and meet her at the dorms. We will be back in Athens on Saturday to take her (and I guess her new friends) out to dinner to celebrate her 18th birthday.

Gibson: I was referencing jablaf having to wait for Housing to spray his room for some type of bugs. Maybe ants??? Hopefully that won’t be an issue for anyone this year.

GIBSON1514- is she already on the debate team - wow, that is impressive. my son is also in meyers-3rd floor- he also got one of the smaller rooms but he doesn’t care- difference between boys and girls. He is glad he is on kitchen side. I guess we will see you at meyers on wednesday.

To everyone, did any of you all order rugs or futons or refirgerators, or are you just waiting til you get there.

We are bringing our stuff with us. I think getting things once you get there will be tough with thousands of people all trying to get the same things. I know at Orientation they suggested you bring your coaxial cable for the TV with you because all the stores around get sold out.

and the Ethernet cable!

Gasenioryear: D is involved policy debate. This a pretty small community and most of the Atl kids that debated on the national circuit know each other. There are 3 freshmen girls joining the UGA team which is about 20 students.

Maybe I will start a move in thread since we have hijacked the discussion on Zell Miller scholarships.

That’s great! I know a bunch of folks who do policy debate and they all have great things to say about the program. I heard they regularly place tops in the SE and do very well nationally. If your D likes the performance aspect of debate, she might also want to take a look at [UGA mock trial](www.ugamocktrial.org). They’re always looking for sharp folks, especially to play attorneys.

Hey, I had a question about the Zell Miller Scholarship. I applied and called them to have it conformed they received my application. I do qualify for the scholarship, and was wondering how long it’ll take till they notify my college about it. (as in it adds to online financial aid total) I applied for both HOPE and Zell Miller about 5 days ago. Thank you.

We completed Ds Zell Miller app on July 9th. It appeard on her UGA account yesterday. So that’s 8 business days. It will probably depend on how quick the school processes their info. We received an email from UGA on July 11th that they had been notifed that she was eligible for Zell Miller but it took much longer before it actually posted.
