Does school effect your chances of admission?

I come from a mostly rural area of Arkansas, Our OOS participation was less than 10%, and I can't figure out the last time we sent someone to a T20. I am a Questbridge finalist, I have a solid GPA and ACT scores, and have applied to Vanderbilt ED II, do I still have a chance to be admitted?

As a Questbridge Finalist they will look at you differently than if you did not have that application. My son is a QB finalist and has applied to Vanderbilt also. If your story is strong enough, coupled with strong academics as you say, it will probably overcome any regional/school affiliation. Then you are on a level playing field with other applications (except legacy, donor affiliation candidates and athletes - they always have the advantage). Good luck!
