Didn’t get in, disappointed.

What other colleges should I apply to that are like Carleton?

I’m sorry it didn’t break your way this time. These are maybe on your list already, but a few names I see pretty frequently coming up alongside Carleton are Grinnell, Macalaster, Oberlin, and St. Olaf. All seem to have friendly, engaged, students, and a liberal arts-y curriculum. Good luck, and take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear that. Take a look at Whitman College. Many similarities to Carleton and a higher admit rate.

My DS really liked Carleton but ended up at Davidson. You should definitely check it out – lots of similarities, plus the climate is much milder.

ME TOO!

I’m really crushed too but honestly it’s nice to find someone else on the same page.

It’s so good to hear from someone else, for real. I was with my friends when I found out and they were definitely empathetic, but it’s hard to totally understand unless you applied to.

Grinnell and St Olaf as well. I’m debating driving down to St Olaf this weekend. Not extremely excited about the school at all.

There are so many. Try not to be discouraged. Davidson is great, although very low acceptance rate. Have you looked at grinell, Vermont, bowdoin, Colby, Denison, Kenyon, union?

Applied to Colby, but don’t a lot of those schools also have very low acceptance rates?

Of course but that doesn’t mean you won’t be one of them. You won’t get in if you do not apply. That’s the only
Sure thing. Vermont has higher acceptance rate than the others. Have you looked
At berry or samford? Both south but small
lAC with higher acceptance. Belmont? There’s a couple smaller
Schools
In the NC mountains. App state being one if outdoors
Is important . Obviously
Richmond is more urban but a great school. Just brainstorming smaller schools. I really think union
Could
Work. Have you looked there?

I agree with @shawk to look at Whitman. It had a similar feel when I visited. Best wishes.

I’ve done some more searching tonight at I’m going to look seriously at Scripps, Whitman, William & Mary, and a few other places.

Trying to be optimistic, but tonight hit me hard.

William and Mary is one I didn’t mention. May be a great fit. Intellectual student body with high acc rate. The school for you IS out there. You just have to cast a wide net if you want that type of school bc they are so small. Best of luck to you. Is Oberlin in the mix? And if you prefer Midwest grinell really is great. Also Kenyon DePauw and Denison. I know I mentioned those but in the region those are great
