@coniston1 Im sorry, they didn't say much about anyone getting off the waitlist on ILR on CC 2022, so there might've been people who got off but idk when, sorry! My best guess is that in general, Cornell will begin releasing waitlists on Monday.

I recently sent in my LOCI, and they sent me an email saying it was in my file, but on my portal, it doesn't have any new updates to submitted information. When I submitted my additional rec letter after being waitlisted, I saw that it was entered and listed as "waitlist correspondence". Should I be worried?

Note from Cornell Engineering this morning...

Thank you for your note and letting us know of your continued interest in Cornell Engineering. At this point, it is uncertain if we will utilize the waitlist—we will not know whether we can use our waitlist until mid-May. We appreciate your patience through the coming weeks.

If you have applied for financial aid, please make sure you have submitted all of the required documents. Should you be offered a spot from the waitlist, this will help move the process forward.

Again, thank you for your understanding and continued interest in attending Cornell Engineering.

A note from Cornell CALS last week stated that they would keep me under consideration and notify my as soon as possible? I don't know whether this means that they have looked into how many people are considering CALS, but looking at the past years of acceptances from waitlist at Cornell, they mostly come from LA&S and Engineering. I'm pretty sure this email was a message of "comfort." But, does anyone know statistics of CALS acceptances off the waitlist in the previous years. I could only find 2017 where they admitted 0. :(

@CrayonShinChan could you possibly copy and paste the email here? I applied to CALS and didn’t get that email... was it like a general email or do u think it meant you have a good shot at getting in?

@teddy10143 i think it was a general email, because according to them, it looks like the spots are full currently and there’s a slim chance they will even admit people to CALS this year. Also I sent my LOCI to Dr. Boor, the dean of CALS, not the CALS or Cornell Admissions team. The email:

    Dear (name),
Thank you for the lovely message. I greatly appreciate your passion for your studies and your continued interest to Cornell CALS. Please continue to update your information about your achievements to our admissions team if we get the chance to admit people from the waitlist this year for consideration. We will notify you and other students as soon as possible.

    All the best to you,

    Sincerely,
    Kathryn Boor

@CrayonShinChan ohhhh I thought you meant like an email addressed generally to a bunch of people on the waitlist. And that was a really good idea to send your LOCI to the dean of CALS, I wish I had thought of that!!

Oof that sucks though that it seems like not many people are gonna be admitted through the wait list this year... oh well we'll just have to wait and see, thanks for the info!!

For CoE, I saw that they posted in their website:
"We hope to have an update about whether or not we will be utilizing the waitlist by May 10."

@teddy10143 rip, i don’t think it’s too late. Just email her and other deans that you got waitlisted to and by chance, if they do go through the waitlisted students, they will recall your friendliness in you email or something. Honestly, there is little to no impact, but it is something to do that gives you a slight 0.01% chance of increasing your acceptance through waitlist if they do do that.
But i heard that if you email them like stuff/update that is rather insignificant, it’s not favorable or something like that. They will view it as pestering them. But idk, i got that from a v sketch sketch source soooooo don’t trust me on that 100%. Honestly just go for it like me!!!! You only live once soooo :)
