<p>I feel like I really messed up in high school, especially in course choices, extracurriculars, and standardized testing. I know its probably useless for asking to be chanced since theres only like 1 week left until acceptance/rejection letters come out, but I want to mentally prepare myself. My cousin’s and everyone I know who goes to UCLA has a way better track record than me. =/</p>

<p>The high school I attended for the first 3 years allowed only 3 AP’s max per year, and didn’t allow freshmans to take any. And AP classes are given on lottery, so I didn’t get all I wanted. And it was also required we had to take the basic science class before taking the AP science class. For senior year, I switched to another school. </p>
<p>I put my major as mechanical engineering, and thats where I think I really screwed up, since I didn’t take that many years of math, along with my scores…

<p>my essays were pretty weak too, since i spent only 2 days on them.
prompt #1: talked about the struggles of setting up the robotics club and teaching ourselves everything and learning to cooperate with each other in order to partake in the competition. i said i joined the club because i was always fascinated by how machines work. in my last sentence i stated i hoped to attend the uc since i believe in would nurture me on the path to becoming a great engineer.
prompt #2: this is where i really messed up. i took the overused path talking about being a first generation and how i first struggled in school since my parents were immigrants who weren’t good with english. but then i put in extra effort and caught up. i should’ve talked about community service or gymnastics instead.</p>
<p>If it gives anyone a clearer idea, i got rejected from calpoly (san luis obispo) but got accepted by uc irvine. I would imagine i barely got into irvine.
Any furtherinsight would be appreciated!</p>
