1,000 Women for Nobel Peace Prize

My d. e-mailed me from India last night that my mother - the land-reform organizer and ecological activist (www.lafti.net) - has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. No, not by herself, but as part of an initiative out of Switzerland to nominate and publicize the work of 1,000 women from around the world. http://www.1000peacewomen.org/eng/html/nominierte/index.php</a>
The list is a fascinating one, and it will make a great book when it comes out!

Incidentally, my d. posts a blog about every other day on her work and travels in south India. You can find it at shantinik.blogspot.com If you go and take a look, it would be appreciated if you would post a comment - she likes to know that people are reading it.

Thank you for letting us know. It is wonderful.

I will pass this on to my Ds and their friends.

Congrats to your family, mini! Very exciting.

Wow mini, Congratulations to your family, your mother is doing some amazing work.
