what’s a 1/3 threshold?

who makes 1/3 mistakes in critical reading…

My score’s been hovering around the same range for months… sigh

I’ve tried memorizing 1000+ new words, taking 10+ practice tests…

I don’t know what’s wrong.

don’t take practice tests for the heck of it
REREAD EVERY SINGLE ONE YOU GOT WRONG

redo a practice test like 2 weeks later and if you understand why you got it wrong the first time, gratz, you are getting better.

GUYS, JUST READ!!! Read like crazy… Reading is the only and most important thing that could raise your score. No studying whatsoever could cure basic deficiencies in the CR section. Read 1984, Lord of the Flies, any novel by Dickens (if you enjoy his style), The Great Gatsby, Lord of the Rings (the book :p), anything by Dan Brown… just read and read and read!! Trust me, it’s coming out of someone who tried it and it worked for him. I know it might feel unrelated, but if you can’t understand what the passage is saying, no amount of vocabulary or practice could ever raise your score… Read for the love of God!! I discovered it too late, so don’t make my mistake and read a book and see its analysis on Sparknotes or something… Do that EVERY WEEK. It works! Good luck, and I’m open to all questions! :D

@jasonjackson789 what if you’re getting most of the problems wrong in sentence completions rather than passage based questions lol.

Then you MUST memorize all of the 400 words in Direct Hits. If you have time, go over Princeton’s Hit Parade too or Rocket review too and the flashcards in Powescore here: [url=The PowerScore SAT Vocabulary Flash Cards | PowerScore]PowerScore SAT Preparation | Free SAT Help Area/url If you don’t have much time, Direct Hits is the most important one so work on that one
good luck!!

Would the 300 essential words by DH be good enough?
