We will have 1 day in Auckland on our way to a Tonga. How should we spend it? Take into account it will be end of August and we arrive 7 am from our international flight and depart for Tonga early the next am.

We stayed at the Sky City Hotel. It was in the downtown area, maybe a 1/2 hour from the airport. You could go to the Sky Tower and do the sky jump.
